the West Midlands, South West and South Wales (using the M5)
Leave the M5 at
Junction 11 and follow signs to Cheltenham. After nearly 3
miles and nearing the town centre bear right following a sign
to Stroud via the A40/A46.
After another mile
or so, having passed Cheltenham College see the Chelsea Building
Society HQ on your left. At the mini roundabout at the end
of this (Thirlestaine) Road, turn right onto B4070 towards
Leckhampton and Birdlip.
The East
Glos Tennis Club is prominent as you turn into this (Old Bath)
Road.
1 Charlton Park Gate is the first house on the left, some
300 metres beyond it.
From
Oxford and London (M40)
Travel down A40 towards Cheltenham, then approach the town,
passing through Charlton Kings.
Following
a sign that includes ‘M5, Station and General Hospital’
turn left into Sandford Mill Road.
At the
end of Sandford Mill Road, turn left. After approximately
150 metres continue straight on at a mini round-about.
After
a similar further distance arrive at a second mini round-about.
Carry straight on, following the B4070 towards Birdlip and
Leckhampton.
The East
Glos Tennis Club is prominent as you pass this junction and
continue along this (Old Bath) Road. 1 Charlton Park Gate
is the first house on the left, some 300 metres beyond it.
From
M4, Swindon, Cirencester
Follow
A419 (Junction 15 on M4) towards Gloucester. A419 becomes
A417 towards Gloucester.
Some 10
miles past Cirencester approach ‘Air Balloon’
roundabout intersecting with A436.
At Air
Balloon roundabout turn right then immediately left down relatively
minor road B4070 towards Leckhampton.
Proceed
through Leckhampton at second roundabout take right onto Charlton
Lane. At T Junction turn left, cross over mini roundabout
taking Old Bath Road. After half a mile, Charlton Park Gate
is on the right.
From Stroud,
Painswick, Brockworth (via A46)
Follow
A46 from Brockworth towards Cheltenham. In the village of
Shurdington follow the sign for Leckhampton - turning right
at the Midway Motor Garage/Bell Inn public house. Continue
on this road, Leckhampton Lane for 2.5 miles.
When reaching
mini roundabout system; turn left then right at second mini
roundabout onto Charlton Lane.
At T Junction
turn left, cross over mini roundabout (Old Bath Road), after
half a mile, Charlton Park Gate is on the right.
